We are delighted to invite you to the 12th edition of Asia Now at the Monnaie de Paris, where we will present a show featuring our Japanese artists Wataru Ozu, Takehiko Sugawara and Chiharu Yakushigawa.

This exhibition explores the dialogue between abstraction and figuration, and we are honoured to pay tribute to the late Takehiko Sugawara (1962-2025) through a monumental abstract work that conveys nature’s enduring life force. We are equally pleased to showcase Wataru Ozu, whose landscapes, portraits and still lifes weave together classical Japanese aesthetics, Western art history and contemporary subculture, as well as Chiharu Yakushigawa, whose “rub” series, created by applying pigment directly with her hands and feet, inscribes the physical presence of the body onto the surface.
