Shoji Takeuchi

Born in 1989 in Kyoto Prefecture. Graduated from Kanazawa College of Art with a Master’s degree in Painting, Japanese Painting Course.
Takeuchi was selected for the Nitten Exhibition in 2012 and received a special prize at the same exhibition in 2018 and 2023. His works, which use familiar landscapes such as water surfaces and plants as motifs and overlap the artist’s mind’s eye that changes by his relationships with people and so on, give the viewer a sense of power that is full of serenity. He is fascinated by the difficulties and challenges involved in the creative process and continues to create works with an insatiable inquiring mind.
