Yurika Kinoshita

Born in Saga in 1988. She studied spatial production design at Kyoto University of Art and Design and Musashino Art University. Currently based in Tokyo.

Based on her upbringing in a flower farming family, she creates abstract representations of flowers and plants from her childhood memories. Influenced by abstract expressionism, she expresses the past and the present by incorporating into her paintings the impressions of visual memories that become hazy as she lives day by day. She depicts the movement of plants by using paint and a hand-painting style, while at the same time extending her own body to recreate her memories.
